These are some of the main additions that we released to our platform in June and July
During the past period, we have improved the Legentic Platform with the features listed below. One of the major improvements is that when an advanced search is performed and we do not have any results, the search will automatically be executed on Google. This will enable you to directly see if there are any results there without leaving the platform.
Other improvements have been made to Locate, which is ready for beta testing in Norway, together with the Claims API, which is ready for beta testing in all countries. Also, admin roles can now get more details on the Legentic data per country in the Data Insights section.
What’s included?
- Google Passthrough
- Locate module
- Partial VIN match
- Data insights
- Claims API
- Many small updates
1. Google Passthrough
Legentic has many historical documents, the classified ads, but we are not Google. Most of the feedback we received when there were no search results was that you could find results on Google. We cannot guarantee that we get all of the data, but we did find room for improvement by using Google searches when advanced searches returned no results.
For instance, when you do an email search: email:"test@test.com" this does not lead to results in the Legentic data but it will display results found on Google, if existing.
You can click on the cards and be redirected to the Google page directly from the platform. In order to activate Google searches, the Admin needs to enable this feature on Configurations page, or reach out to Legentic support to enable this feature.
In this article, you can find all information for the Google feature: https://help.legentic.com/search-engine-passthrough
2. Locate module
Locate is a key module in the Legentic Platform where users can interact with a map to find historic information. In order to deliver locate we had to "geo-tag" our historic dataset and this is now done for Norway first, where we are ready to launch the module.

3. Partial VIN match
More flexibility in VIN searches by displaying partial matches below the exact ones. This feature is particularly useful when the final digits are masked or hidden in the original source.
4. Data insights
For the admin users of the Legentic platform, a new tab is made available in the admin panel. This Data Insights panel shows the incoming data within the selected time period. This also gives insight in what type of data is coming in, such as VIN, license plate, email, etc.
Additional insights will be provided in the near future to enhance transparency regarding the data collected and accessible within the platform.
4. Claims API
Not only the Legentic Platform users have something to look forward to, but our integration partners also get new functionalities. Next to the Investigate API, we have now launched the Claims API.
With the Claims API the user can "configure" what flags they want to raised based on Legentic data. This is ideal for the Claims process where the customer wants fast insights on outliers based on Legentic data. For example, this could include situations where data was published near the date of a claim, or when data becomes available after an object is stolen. With the Claims API these anomalies are detected and communicated back.
The Claims API offers the same user-friendly test interface as with the Investigate API and allows admins to generate their own access keys.
5. Many small updates
We have made many minor improvements, which can be found in our change log. Amongst others some improvements are:
- A chat feature, allowing you to receive query assistance and answers to your questions from our team right within the platform.
- Automated searches now generate alerts in the Evidence menu, informing you of new daily findings
- Fixed an issue related to case sensitivity in profile_names search
- Update on French translations
- Removed ‘Euro’ from the price filter
- And many others...
