Locate

Locate API provides the ability to identify lost or stolen assets through predefined business rules and returns results if those business rules have been met, including severity, results count, and a deeplink to the corresponding results in the Legentic Platform. Configured business rules can be viewed in the Settings section.

Authentication

All requests require an API key. Only Company Admins can generate and manage keys in the Credentials section.

Search Request

VINs or licence plates are required to connect the identifiers in your cases with our extensive data. Country codes allows you to filter the results by the country of interest. You can also use wildcard symbol ["*"] to search in all the countries your company has access to. This increases the range of your search, but may also return a large number of results or increase response times. In order to find out countries your company has access to, you can use countries endpoint. Including case data with every request enables collaboration across departments and ensures the full set of business rules can be evaluated.

Frequency

Legentic indexes new documents daily. If no matches are returned today, we recommend re-executing your requests at regular intervals, as relevant results may be indexed at a later time.
